Africa DevelopmentThe Africa Development business unit was established to grow AEL’s business in Africa. With a well established sub-Saharan network of operational hubs already existing, the focus is on identifying and developing opportunities in North Africa. Direct exports from South Africa into African countries with no AEL presence form an important part of this business unit.
AEL Mining Services successfully established a presence in North Africa during 2008/9 in line with its strategy to grow the business through expanding its operations throughout Africa.
AEL installed its emulsion plant at the Sukari Gold Project in Egypt and commenced manufacturing operations at the mine on 1st February 2009.
AEL continues to look for opportunities to meet and exceed customers requirements throughout remote regions of Africa. AEL has demonstrated its capability to deploy in any area where their customers mine - whatever the challenges, and however remote the region.
