The Hot Hole Monitor is a device which monitors temperature changes in hot holes and reduces the risk posed by premature detonation in surface coal mining where hot hole conditions may be hazardous.

This device monitors blast hole temperatures to warn operators of temperature changes in the blast hole.

Recommendations for use

  • Ensure plastic strip is intact and secured before use to ensure that the battery is charged.
  • Single use only as the battery life cannot be guaranteed after the first use
